The artisanal process of creating our Clam Side Table gives each piece an individual soul and patina, as the temperature, humidity and hands at work all contribute to its distinctiveness.
It is a reaction to the mass-produced and industrial, ethereal brutalism with handmade irregularity at its core, revealing the material's inherent beauty through a process that allows limited control. The shape, with a tangible nod towards classical sculpture, serves as canvas for the process. Drawing inspiration from seashells and their periostracum, the name emphasizes the unique patina on each object's body.
The material is un-dyed and slight variations in the colour from piece to piece must be considered a characteristic of the artisanal process. Each piece will have its unique patina. The piece has a waxed finish with a satin gloss. Can be produced with UV-resistant coating, always with a subtle satin gloss.
All our objects are hand layered by skilled craftsmen in Sweden. Each one with personal irregularities told by the hand, the season and the conditions. Therefore each item will vary somewhat in colour and detail.

Care
Fiberglass is an extremely durable material used in heavy duty industries and is just as suitable for indoor and as well as outdoor use.
Like all materials we recommend treating with care for longevity. We prefer to embrace its natural characteristics and leave the surface uncovered, with only a waxed finishing or UV-coating to safeguard the colour and lustre of our objects.
The nature of our intricate production process gives the fiberglass a unique appearance. The seasons and the hands at work will leave a unique trace on color tone and marbling, rendering each object one of a kind.
Fiberglass composites are highly durable and can be repaired and polished over time. For optimal maintenance we recommend:
- Regularly polish the table top with Honey Wax.
- After using cleaning detergents, reapply wax polish to restore the protective layer.
- Avoid using strong corrosive substances on the surface.
- Prevent spillage of strong dyes such as blueberries, coffee, red wine and similar.
Be aware that prolonged exposure to direct sunlight may result in discoloration.
